Hawai‘i 6, Fresno State 5 (10)


FRESNO, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i baseball team defeated No. 13 Fresno State Friday, 6-5, in 10 innings. The game was the series opener between the Rainbows and Bulldogs, as UH improves to a WAC-best 8-1 and 23-17 overall, and Fresno State falls to 8-4 in conference and 28-8 overall.

Louisiana Tech 3, Nevada 1



RUSTON, La. - Trevor Petersen allowed just one unearned run in a season-high eight innings of work and Kyle Roliard and Mark Threlkeld combined for six of Tech's 11 hits as Louisiana Tech dropped Nevada, 3-1, in the series opener against the Wolf Pack Friday night at J.C. Love Field. Petersen (4-3) was wild in the first inning as he walked three of the first four batters that he faced. However, the sophomore right-hander forced Brock Stassi to ground into a double play to put two quick outs on the scoreboard.

San Jose State 5, Sacramento State 3



Sacramento, Calif. - Craig Hertler had an eighth-inning RBI double that broke a 3-3 tie and propelled the San Jose State Spartans to a 5-3 win over Sacramento State on Friday at John Smith Field in Sacramento, Calif. The win, in the opener of a four-game Western Athletic Conference series, improves the Spartans overall record to 28-15, 7-6 in league play.  Sacramento State falls to 1-8 in WAC action and 14-29 overall.

New Mexico State 10, Seattle 2 (7)

BELLEVUE, Wash. - The New Mexico State baseball team (29-14) split the doubleheader with Seattle University, Friday, April 29 winning game one 10-2 and losing game two 5-1 at Bannerwood Park, in Bellevue, Wash.

"We did okay today, and I see a big improvement from the way we played last week," head coach Rocky Ward said.  "Cooper did pretty well in game two and the relievers did what they were supposed to do but we couldn't string the hits together that we needed to come back and win."
