Boise State 3, Fresno State 2
Kelly Sweeney hit a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Broncos a 3-2 win over Fresno State in the first half of a twinbill Saturday. Allie Crump and Christina Capobianco drove in the other two runs for Boise State. Crump also earned the complete-game win in the circle, striking out seven.
Boise State 12, Fresno State 9
The two teams combined for 23 hits, but the Broncos came out on top, defeating Fresno State 12-9 in the nightcap. With the win, the Broncos accomplished what no other WAC team has done since Fresno State joined the conference in 1993 - sweep a season series from the Bulldogs. Lela Work drove in three runs, while Holly Bourke and Megan Harvey each had two RBI. Aubray Zell earned the complete-game win to improve to 14-2 on the year.
San Jose State 4, Louisiana Tech 1
The Spartans capitalized on five Lady Techster errors in a 4-1 win over Louisiana Tech in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday. Britney Helm drove in two runs, while Amanda Schatz was 2-for-3. Jennifer Ames picked up the complete-game win.
San Jose State 5, Louisiana Tech 3
The Spartans rattled off 11 hits in the nightcap and won 5-3 to win the series. Breanna Lopez and Schatz each drove in two runs. Elyssa Fox earned the win, while Alex Molina picked up the save.
Utah State 8, Nevada 1
The Aggies out-hit the Wolf Pack 9-4 en route to an 8-1 win to sweep the series Saturday. It was Utah State's first WAC sweep since the 2007 season. Allison Lenzora was 3-for-4 and scored three runs to pace the Aggies offensively. Shelby Tyteca picked up the win, while Mandy Harmon earned the save.
Hawai‘i 5, New Mexico State 4
Alex Aguirre launched a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift the Rainbow Wahine over New Mexico State, 5-4. Aguirre and Jessica Iwata both drove in two runs. Jenna Rodriguez earned the win in relief, throwing 2.0 innings.
Hawai‘i 5, New Mexico State 4
The Rainbow Wahine swept the series with a 5-4 win over the Aggies in the nightcap. Iwata drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning with an RBI single, her third RBI of the game. Rodriguez again earned the win, throwing 1.1 innings.
