The 2011 edition of the WAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship
will be hosted by the University of Hawai‘i at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu, May 10-13. Five men’s teams and eight women’s
teams will compete for the 2010 championship titles.
For the men, Utah State looks to defend its outdoor title for the second straight year, as well
as go for a season sweep after tying Boise State for the 2011 indoor championship.
The Aggies took home the WAC outdoor trophy in 2007, 2009 and 2010. On the
women’s side, Louisiana Tech hopes to secure its seventh straight outdoor
title, after claiming its fourth-consecutive and sixth-overall indoor
crown in February.
The championship gets underway on Tuesday with the men’s decathlon
and women’s heptathlon. Field event finals along with running event
preliminaries and finals begin on Thursday.
