New Mexico State men’s tennis player Jim Brouleau has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District VI At-Large first team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America.
A Poitiers, France, native, Brouleau earned his bachelor’s degree in international business in May 2011 with a 3.73 grade-point average.
In his final season, Brouleau helped the Aggies to a 14-7 overall record, which is the best record since the 2000 season. NM State finished in second place at the WAC Championships, also a program-best finish.
Brouleau played most of the season in the No. 2 spot, going 17-4 during the spring. No Aggie won more singles matches at any particular spot in the lineup than Brouleau did by winning 16 matches in the No. 2 spot. He was a second team all-WAC selection for both singles and doubles.
District VI is made up of schools in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. As a first team selection, Brouleau now qualifies for Academic All-America honors.
