LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The University of Hawai'i baseball team claimed a share of the WAC regular season title Saturday on the heels of a resounding 24-3 defeat of New Mexico State. It was the regular season finale for both teams as the Rainbows improve to 32-23 overall and 17-7 in the WAC, while the Aggies finish 34-22 and 9-15 in conference. As co-regular season champions with Fresno State, UH claims its first title since 1992 when the team also won the WAC Tournament. The Rainbows must await the conclusion of this weekend's WAC play to determine if they are the No. 1 seed in the WAC Tournament.

Sacramento State 5, Louisiana Tech 4 (7)
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento State baseball team split a Western Athletic Conference doubleheader with Louisiana Tech on Saturday afternoon at John Smith Field. The Hornets took game one, 5-4, but lost game two, 2-1. Sacramento State is now 31-25 (6-17 WAC) on the season while Louisiana Tech is 31-25 (11-12 WAC).

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Clint Ewing was 3-for-4 and drove in the winning run as Louisiana Tech edged out Sacramento State, 2-1, in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at John Smith Field in Sacramento. With the win Louisiana Tech improves to 31-25 (11-12 Western Athletic) on the year and stays in the hunt for the No. 3 seed next week at the WAC Tournament in Mesa, Ariz. Sacramento State falls to 19-38 (6-17 WAC).

San Jose State 11, Nevada 10 (7)
San Jose, Calif. - The San Jose State baseball team had five-run leads heading to the sixth inning in both games of a doubleheader against the Wolf Pack of Nevada on Saturday but came away with a split of a doubleheader. The Spartans won the seven-inning game one 11-10, but fell in the nine-inning nightcap 7-6. The result leaves the Spartans, Nevada and Louisiana Tech with matching 11-12 Western Athletic Conference records.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Nevada Wolf Pack (22-29, 11-12 WAC) came back from a 5-0 sixth inning deficit to drop the San Jose State Spartans (33-23, 11-12 WAC) 7-6 in game two of today's doubleheader. With one out and the bases loaded, Michael Turay (2-for-4,2RBI) dropped down a perfectly-executed suicide squeeze that scored Nick Melino (1-for-4,2R) and Brian Barnett (2-for-5,2R,RBI). With Melino coming down the third base line, Spartans pitcher John Austin fielded the bunt and overthrew home plate allowing Barnett to come around from second base as well and put the Pack ahead 7-5.

Cal State Bakersfield 5, Fresno State 2
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Fresno State baseball team lost the third game of the series against CSU Bakersfield 5-2 on Saturday night. The Bulldogs are 37-13 on the season and conclude the 2011 regular season on Sunday against the Roadrunners. The 2011 regular season Co-WAC champions recorded five hits against the Runners.
