Trammel
and Chase Sexton
have
been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and
Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week of April 25-May 1.
Trammel, a sophomore from Albuquerque, N.M. (Highland
HS), won both the 110-meter hurdles (14.13) and 400-meter hurdles (52.76) at
the Idaho-Utah Border Clash last weekend.
His time in the 110-meter hurdles is the second best in the WAC and 28th
in the West Region and was a career-best.
He also was a member of the winning 4x100m relay team that clocked the
Broncos' season-best time of 41.48 seconds.
Trammel also placed second in the long jump with a career-best mark of
23-6.25.
Sexton, a junior from Salem, Ore. (Salem HS), won the
discus at the Idaho-Utah Border Clash with a personal-best of 177-2, breaking his
previous best by over four feet set just last week. The distance is the second best in the
WAC. He also placed second in the shot
put with a mark of 52-1.75.
