Verizon WAC Men' Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER -Boise State's Rolando Trammel and Chase Sexton have been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week of April 25-May 1.

Trammel, a sophomore from Albuquerque, N.M. (Highland HS), won both the 110-meter hurdles (14.13) and 400-meter hurdles (52.76) at the Idaho-Utah Border Clash last weekend.  His time in the 110-meter hurdles is the second best in the WAC and 28th in the West Region and was a career-best.  He also was a member of the winning 4x100m relay team that clocked the Broncos' season-best time of 41.48 seconds.  Trammel also placed second in the long jump with a career-best mark of 23-6.25.

Sexton, a junior from Salem, Ore. (Salem HS), won the discus at the Idaho-Utah Border Clash with a personal-best of 177-2, breaking his previous best by over four feet set just last week.  The distance is the second best in the WAC.  He also placed second in the shot put with a mark of 52-1.75.

Other track nominees included: Dennis Richardson , Louisiana Tech; and Silas Pimentel , Utah State.
