New Mexico State 16, Boise State 3 (5)
The Aggies pounded 14 hits in a 16-3 five-inning victory over Boise State to secure the top seed in next week's WAC Tournament in the first half of a doubleheader Saturday. Tiare Jennings drove in four runs to pace the NM State offense. Celisha Walker picked up the complete-game win.
New Mexico State 7, Boise State 6
The Aggies claimed the WAC regular-season title with a 7-6 come-from-behind win over Boise State in the nightcap. NM State used a three-run fifth inning to take the lead for good. Vanessa Valles was 2-for-3 with two RBI to pace the Aggies. Alex Villalobos, one of four New Mexico State pitchers, earned the win.
Nevada 8, Fresno State 4
The Wolf Pack tallied 11 hits en route to an 8-4 win at Fresno State in the first half of a twinbill at Bulldog Diamond Saturday. Megan Fincher was 2-for-4 with three RBI to lead Nevada. Ariel Craig picked up the win, allowing four runs on four hits.
Fresno State 5, Nevada 0
The Bulldogs rebounded in the nightcap, shutting out the Wolf Pack 5-0 to close out the regular season. Brooke Ortiz was 3-for-3 with two RBI to lead Fresno State. Michelle Moses earned the complete-game win in the circle, striking out nine.
Hawai‘i 11, San Jose State 1 (5)
The Rainbow Wahine belted 11 hits in an 11-1 five-inning win over San Jose State in the first half of a doubleheader at Spartan Field Saturday. Jessica Iwata was 3-for-5 with a homer and drove in five runs. Kelly Majam was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBI. Kaia Parnaby earned the win, giving up just two hits and striking out seven.
Hawai‘i 3, San Jose State 1
The Rainbow Wahine plated two runs in the top of the first inning to take the lead for good in a 3-1 win at San Jose State in the nightcap. Iwata was 2-for-3 with a home run. Majam and Jenna Rodriguez also launched long balls in the win. Stephanie Ricketts earned the complete-game win, her 21st of the season. She scattered five hits and struck out eight.
Utah State 11, Louisiana Tech 10 (8)
Kassy Uchida hit an RBI-single to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Utah State an 11-10 win over Louisiana Tech in WAC action Saturday. Shasta Tyteca and Tina Ferguson both drove in three runs for the Aggies. Shelbi Tyteca picked up the win, allowing three runs on seven hits.
