Utah State 2, Portland State 1
LOGAN, Utah - - Two second-half goals led the Utah State soccer team to a 2-1 win over Portland State in the Aggies home opener at Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field Sunday afternoon. With the win, Utah State improves to 2-0-0 this season. This is the third-straight season that the Aggies have started the season with a 2-0-0 record. The win also makes USU unbeaten in its last five matches against Big Sky Conference teams. The Aggies defeated Big Sky opponent Weber State, 1-0, on Friday at Rio Tinto Stadium.

LAS VEGAS – For the first time since 2003, University of Idaho women’s soccer opened a season with consecutive draws after a 1-1 tie against UC Riverside on Sunday at the UNLV Rebel Classic. Junior forward Chelsea Small scored her 22nd career goal on an assist from fellow junior Jill Flockhart to help Idaho (0-0-2) overcome an early 1-0 deficit in the match.

Louisiana Tech 0, Southern Miss 0 (2OT)
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Louisiana Tech soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against Southern Miss on Sunday at Southern Miss Soccer Complex. The tie was the first for the Lady Techsters since a scoreless draw at Sam Houston State in 2009. With the tie Tech is now 1-0-1 on the year while the Golden Eagles are 0-1-1. Sophomore Caitlin Updyke (Broomfield, Colo.) started in goal for the Lady Techsters stopping seven shots. The shutout was the second straight for Updyke and the ninth of her career.

SARATOGA, Calif. – The University of Nevada women’s soccer team fell 4-0 to the Penn State Nittany Lions Sunday. The neutral-site match was played at West Valley College. The loss dropped Nevada to 0-2, while Penn State improved to 1-1.

LUBBOCK, Texas (Aug. 21)-In the first-ever meeting against a Big 12 opponent, the New Mexico State soccer team fell at Texas Tech, 1-0. Sophomore goalkeeper Erin Wosick directed the Aggie defense with a season-high seven saves. Offensively, junior forward Yolanda McMillion led NM State with a pair of shot attempts. Sophomore midfielder Mary Kate Koziol and freshman forward Katelynn Tupponce also posted their first shots of the season.
