Utah State 2, Colorado College 1


COLORADO SPRING, Colo. - Utah State soccer fought off the lightning and the Tigers of Colorado College to earn a hard-fought, 2-1, win Friday in Colorado Springs. The match was delayed several minutes severe weather in the area. Despite taking only two shots the entire match, Utah State was able to earn its first ever win against Colorado College. USU is now 1-0-1 against the Tigers. The Aggie defense came through as CC took an astonishing 17 corner kicks in the match, including 13 in the first half. For the match, the Tigers out-shot the Aggies, 21-2.

#13 UC Irvine 2, San Jose State 1 (2OT)

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The San Jose State women’s soccer team fell to its second straight top-15 ranked opponent Friday by a score of 2-1, this time pushing No. 13 UC Irvine to double overtime at UCR Soccer Stadium in the opening game of the UC Riverside Invitational.

New Mexico State 4, Prairie View 0



LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Aug. 26)-In the home opener, the New Mexico State soccer team defeated Prairie View A&M, 4-0, for its first victory of the season. The Aggies had four freshmen score their first career goals in the match. NM State improved to 1-2-0 on the season, while the Panthers fell to 0-2-0. Sophomore goalkeeper Erin Wosick recorded her first shutout of the season in the win. The Aggie offense controlled the ball throughout the game and out-shot the Panthers, 28-2.

Seattle 1, Idaho 0



MOSCOW, Idaho – The chances were there, but the final touch wasn’t for the University of Idaho women’s soccer team on Friday against Seattle University in a 1-0 loss. Idaho (0-1-2) put together a handful of good scoring chances, including one that skidded off the crossbar in the second half, but it was Seattle (3-0-0) that took care if its big opportunity in the Vandals’ home opener before a crowd of 225 people at Guy Wicks Field.

Idaho State 2, Nevada 1 (2OT)



POCATELLO, Idaho – The University of Nevada women’s soccer team dropped a 2-1 (2OT) decision to the Idaho State Bengals Friday. The loss dropped Nevada to 0-3, while Idaho State improved to 3-0. Behind an early goal from senior Ellie Stott, the Wolf Pack jumped ahead of the Bengals and stayed there for most of the game. In the 13th minute, Stott found the back of the net from 20 yards out, putting a shot in the top-right corner of the Idaho State goal. It was the first goal of the year for Stott and for Nevada as a team. Chelsea Fricke assisted on Stott’s goal to earn her first point at Nevada.

Fresno State 3, San Francisco 0



FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer team came out on top in their home opener against the University of San Francisco Friday night after three different Bulldogs punched in goals in the second half. Junior Callie Hancock and freshman Jaycee Bingham picked up their second goals of the season, while sophomore Morgan Castain earned her first as a Bulldog. All three goals came within a seven minute time span.

LAKE CHARLES, La. - After falling behind early against McNeese State in Lake Charles, La., the Louisiana Tech women's soccer team comeback attempt fell short Friday night at Cowgirls Field. The Cowgirls won the fourth meeting between the in-state schools 2-1 behind two first half goals. The loss drops the Lady Techsters to 2-1-1 on the season and while MSU improves to 1-2-0.
