GREELEY, Colo - - GREELEY, Colo. - With a 2-1 win over Northern Colorado on Sunday, the Utah State women's soccer team made history, improving to 4-0-0 for the first time in school history. The previous best start for the Aggies was a 3-0-0 start in 2009. With the loss, Northern Colorado falls to 0-3-1. With the win against the Bears, USU improves to 3-0-0 against the Big Sky Conference this season. USU also has victories over Weber State and Portland State.

SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Nevada women’s soccer team earned its first victory of 2011 Sunday, defeating Utah 1-0. Nevada improved to 1-3, while Utah fell to 0-2-1. “It feels good,” head coach Dr. Melissa Price said about the win. “It was an entire team effort and I'm proud of our players today.” The contest’s lone goal came from Kori Disarufino in the 82nd minute, when she took a pass from Aleina Dominguez and buried it in the back of the net. The shot came from 15 yards as Dominguez deftly slipped a ball through the Utah defense and onto Disarufino in a good scoring position.

Louisiana Tech 1, Troy 0
RUSTON, La. - Junior Finola Corley (Telford, England) scored the only goal of the game as the Louisiana Tech women's soccer team defeated Troy 1-0 in a defensive battle Sunday afternoon at Lady Techster Soccer Complex. The Techsters improve to 3-1-1 on the season and Troy falls to 1-2-0. Tech struggled to break the Trojans defense in the first half and only got off four shots. Sophomore Mia Schorpp (Fort Worth, Texas) nearly found the back of the net in the 27th minute from 20 yards out, but Troy's goalkeeper Ashley Branham made a leaping save near the right goal post.

New Mexico State 2, Houston Baptist 0
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Aug. 28)-The New Mexico State soccer team concluded its home opening weekend with a 2-0 victory over Houston Baptist. The Aggies recorded their second consecutive shutout of the season. NM State improved to 2-2-0, while the Huskies moved to 1-3-0. "It was a very competitive game," head coach Blair Quinn said. "Those are mostly games we are going to be in all year, where it's one goal or two goals and it's late in the game. We have to find a way to keep battling through it. Our first goal was a great goal. MK (Koziol) got a ball in the midfield and took a great touch to open up space and ripped that ball to the back post, and no one was going to save that. It was a great goal."

PORTLAND, Ore. – The University of Idaho women’s soccer team suffered a road loss on Sunday at Portland State after allowing two first-half goals in a 2-1 loss at Hillsboro Stadium. Vandal junior Chelsea Small scored her second goal of the season and 23rd of her career to bring her within one of tying Idaho’s all-time record, but Idaho gave up a pair of header goals and despite a strong second half, couldn’t find an equalizer.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Senior Jessica Ingram scored Sunday in the final minutes of regulation to send the match to overtime, but the San Jose State women's soccer team found itself on the losing end of a 2-1 result for the third straight game, falling to UC Riverside. Ingram notched the equalizer for the Spartans (0-3-0) with just seconds to go in regulation. She found the back of the net for the first time this season in the 88th minute after emerging from traffic with the ball and firing a shot past Highlanders goalkeeper Jessica Olafsen for the 1-1 score.

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer team outshot Loyola Marymount (18-17) on the road Sunday afternoon, but could not find the back of the net as the Bulldogs earned their first tie of the season, 0-0, after playing through two overtimes on the pitch. "It was pretty exciting to watch," said Head Coach Brian Zwaschka. "It was a pretty high intensity game. I really felt like we played smart. I feel like we really challenged a very good team."

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's soccer team rallied from a slow start but eventually fell to North Dakota State, 3-2, in the 'OHANA Hotels and Resorts No Ka Oi tournament Saturday night at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium. UH dropped to 0-2 on the young season. UH gave up a pair of goals in the first 12 minutes of the match only to rally and tie the score early in the second half. However, a defensive mishap led to an own goal in the 63rd minute and the team would not recover.
