WAC TEAM-BY-TEAM NOTES
Fresno State Bulldogs
Fresno State competed in two separate invitationals on Saturday, Sept. 24 ... the women’s team competed at the Roadrunner Invite hosted in Bakersfield, Calif. ... the top ‘Dogs competed in Stanford, Calif. for one of the toughest competitions in California ... freshman, Lyndsie Etherton ran a 6K at Stanford in a time of 21:39 and Ann Poythress finished in a time of 21:46 ... Paul Zwama led the Bulldogs in the 8K race at Stanford finishing with a time of 24:46 ... Eric Battles followed (24:47) ... the women’s team also competed at the Roadrunner Invitational in Bakersfield ... Stevie Brumwell finished first in the 5K with a time of 18:56 and Alyson De La Rosa finished 4th with a time of 19:45.
Hawai‘i Rainbow Wahine
Hawai’i finished in 31st place at the Stanford Invitational, Saturday at the Stanford Golf Course ... UH’s “B” team participated in the Brigham Young-Hawai’i Invitational on the same day and finished third ... the Rainbow Wahine sent a contingent of seven runners to Stanford and finished with 900 team points ... sophomore Alison Williams was Hawai’i’s top finisher at 198th overall with a time of 23:49 on the 6K course ... freshman Louise Mulvey finished 218th at 24:11 followed by sophomore Kevyn Murphy (24:20, 224th), freshman Ariana Horton (25:07, 247th), junior Megan Dart (25:30, 252nd), freshman Heather Delgado (25:55, 259th), and freshman Hayley Musashi (26:11, 265th) ... in La’ie, UH’s top finishers were Rachelle Wilson (20:44, 9th), Evangeline Rehwaldt (20:48, 10th) and Tiare Nakashima (21:01, 12th).
Idaho Vandals
The Vandals did not compete last week ... the team returns to the course this week as the squad will compete in the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Eugene, Oregon.
Louisiana Tech
Louisiana Tech ran an average time of 28:49.04 as the men’s cross country team finished fifth out of 14 teams at the LSU Invitational Saturday in Baton Rouge ... LA Tech finished with 102 points, beating Louisiana-Lafayette by 77 points ... Josh Slocum led the Bulldogs with an 11th place finish and a time of 28:14.3 ... Steven Cortez followed with a time of 28:20.1 to place 13th ... Kyle Davis finished 24th for the Bulldogs with a time of 29:05.0, Brent Kitto placed 26th with a time of 29:10.3 and Ashton Taylor ran 29:15.5 to finish 28th ... the team returns to action Oct. 3 when Tech travels to Natchitoches for the NW State Invitational.
Nevada Wolf Pack
Nevada did not compete last week ... the team next returns to the course on Oct. 1 when the Pack heads to the Desert Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev.
New Mexico State Aggies
New Mexico State did not compete last week ... the Aggies return to action when the team travels to Stillwater, Okla., for the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday, Oct. 1.
San Jose State Spartans
San Jose State did not compete last week ... the team returns to the course on Oct. 1 when the team travels to Salem, Ore. for the Charles Bowles Invitational.
Utah State Aggies
Utah State did not compete this past week ... the team returns to action on Sept. 30 when the team travels to South Bend, Ind. for the Notre Dame Invitational.
WAC NOTES
WAC CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2011 WAC Cross Country Championship travels to Honolulu, Hawaii. This year’s championships will be hosted by the University of Hawaii and will take place at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course on Saturday, Oct. 29. The Utah State men and New Mexico State women claimed the championships last year.

Admission: Free - All spectators must contact the head coach of the team they are supporting or the WAC office (bjones@wac.org) in order to be included on a pass list to enter the Marine Base. All names must be submitted by Friday, Oct. 14.
NCAA REGIONALS
The 2011 Cross Country Regionals will be held at nine sites throughout the country, Saturday, Nov. 12. WAC teams will be represented in three locations. The West Region will be held in Palo Alto, Calif. (Stanford). The Mountain Region will be held in Provo, Utah (Brigham Young), while Louisiana Tech will be the lone team in the South Central Regional (Baylor) in Waco, Texas.
