DENVER – Idaho sophomore post player Alyssa Charlston has been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 26-Jan. 1. This is the first WAC Player of the Week honor of her career.

The Sammamish, Wash., native earned all-tournament team honors at the Montana Invitational after averaging 18.0 points on 50 percent shooting from the field and 71 percent shooting from three-point range, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks as the Vandals went 1-1. She opened the week with six points, six rebounds and two blocks in 19 minutes of action in Idaho’s win vs. North Dakota, as she sat the final 18:31 of the first half after two quick personal fouls.
