New Mexico State 79, San Jose State 63
SAN JOSE, Calif. (NMSU Media Relations)-The New Mexico State men's basketball team coasted to a 79-63 win at San Jose State.
The Aggies (14-5, 4-0) earned their second WAC road win of the year for their sixth straight victory. Redshirt senior forward Wendell McKines scored a game-high 24 points, while senior center Hamidu Rahman had a season-high 20 points.
Senior guard Hernst Laroche added 15 points. With his second field goal of the game, Laroche became the 29th member of the 1,000-point club at NM State. He is the second player to join the elite club this season. Laroche also broke the school record for career minutes played (3,811) that Eric Channing previously held (3,783).

Louisiana Tech 74, Hawai‘i 70
HONOLULU, Hawaii –(LT Media Relations) Freshman guard Raheem Appleby scored a career-high 28 points as Louisiana Tech (9-10, 1-3 WAC) defeated Hawaii (10-8, 2-2 WAC) 74-70 Thursday night at the Stan Sheriff Center in front of 6,016 fans. The victory ends a 12-game WAC road winless streak for the Bulldogs.
Sophomore guard Cordarius Johnson made two free throws to give Tech an early lead but the Rainbow Warriors scored five straight points to take a 5-2 advantage two minutes into the first half.
The Bulldogs responded by scoring seven-straight points over a 1:05 span for a 9-5 lead. Hawaii came back with five consecutive points to put the advantage back into their favor.
Appleby capped an 8-2 Tech run with a jumper to put the Bulldogs up 17-12 with 12:07 left until halftime.
Two free throws from the Rainbow Warriors’ Shaquille Stokes tied the contest at 27-27. Sophomore guard Kenyon McNeail then drove the ball down the lane for a layup to give the Bulldogs the lead on the next possession.

Seattle U 73, Utah State 66
SEATTLE, Wash. -(USU Media Relations) Senior point guard Brockeith Pane scored 20 points, but Seattle shot 53.2 percent en route to a 73-66 home win against future Western Athletic Conference foe Utah State here Thursday.
Utah State falls to 10-9 on the season with the loss, while Seattle improves to 5-12 with the win.
Pane has now scored 20-plus points in two straight games and in three of his last four for Utah State. Sophomore guard Preston Medlin also scored in double-figures for the Aggies with 19 points, while junior forward Kyisean Reed finished with eight points, six rebounds and two blocked shots.
Aaron Broussard had 17 points and Sterling Carter scored 12 to lead Seattle.
Trailing by seven at the break, Utah State scored the first points of the second-half on a three-pointer by sophomore guard/forward Danny Berger, but Seattle scored the next five points to push the lead back to nine at 39-30. USU later got within three at 52-49 on a pair of free throws by Pane with 8:06 to play and had a chance to tie the game on its next possession, but missed a three-point attempt. From there, Seattle went on a 10-2 run to extend its lead back to 11 at 62-51 and Utah State never got closer than the final score of 73-66.
