San Jose State 86, Nevada 79
San Jose State ended a six-year, 44-game WAC road losing streak with an 86-79 win over Nevada at Lawlor Event Center Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Spartans improve to 8-12 on the season and 3-2 in WAC play. The Wolf Pack fall to 5-15 overall and 1-4 in the conference.

San Jose State shot 51 percent from the field, 22 percent from three-point range and 77 percent from the charity stripe on the game. Nevada connected on 37 percent from the floor, 30 percent from beyond the arc and 68 percent from the free throw line. The Wolf Pack out-rebounded the Spartans 43-38.

Brittany Johnson had a career-high 32 points. It was the first time a Spartan scored 30 or more points in a game since Dec. 10, 2005. Ta'Rea Cunnigan added a career-high 21 points, while Myesha Broaden had her third double-double of the season with 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

Nevada was led by Emily Burns, who had a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double, while Chanelle Brennan added 14 points.


Louisiana Tech 69, New Mexico State 42
The Lady Techsters used a pair of 15-0 second half runs to blow open a tight game and defeat New Mexico State 69-42 in WAC action Saturday at the Pan American Center. With the win, Louisiana Tech improves to 10-10 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Aggies drop to 4-16 on the year and 1-4 in the WAC.

For the game, LA Tech shot 44 percent from the field, 37 percent from three-point range and 80 percent free throw line. NM State shot 29 percent from the field, 27 percent from downtown and 65 percent from the free throw line. The Aggies out-rebounded Tech 37-34.

Kiara Young and Whitney Jones scored 15 points apiece to lead the Lady Techsters.

Tabytha Wampler led NM State with 14 points and nine rebounds.


Utah State 78, Idaho 70
Behind 22 points from Devyn Christensen, Utah State defeated Idaho 78-70 in WAC action in Moscow Saturday night. With the win, the Aggies improve to 13-6 overall and 4-1 in WAC action. Idaho falls to 5-16 overall and 0-5 in league play with the loss. This is the best start ever for Utah State since joining the WAC for the 2005-2006 season.

Utah State shot 48 percent from the floor, 50 percent from three-point range and 67 percent from the charity stripe. Idaho connected on 49 percent from the field, 33 percent from downtown and 72 percent from the free throw line on the game. Idaho won the rebounding battle, 32-29.

Maddy Plunkett added 12 points for the Aggies.

Idaho was led by Alyssa Charlston, who scored a game-high 29 points. Stacey Barr added 20 points.


Fresno State 83, Hawai‘i 48
Fresno State won its sixth straight game Saturday, defeating Hawai'i 83-48 in WAC action. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 17-4 overall and remain the only undefeated team in WAC play at 5-0. The Rainbow Wahine drop to 8-12 on the season and 3-2 in conference play.

Fresno State shot 45 percent from the field, 36 percent from three-point range, 53 percent from the free throw line on the game. Hawai‘i connected on 37 percent from the field, 46 percent from the charity stripe and was 0-for-9 from downtown on the game. The Rainbow Wahine won the rebounding battle, 45-37, but committed 30 turnovers that resulted in 36 points for the Bulldogs.

Ki-Ki Moore tied her career high with 28 points, while freshmen Alex Sheedy and Madison Parrish scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Kalei Adolpho paced Hawai‘i with 14 points.
