DENVER - Four
Western Athletic Conference school continue to earn regional recognition,
appearing in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches
Association rankings. UTSA, UT Arlington, Utah State and New Mexico State
remain among the top 15 teams in their respective regions.
UTSA and UT Arlington represent
the WAC in the South Central Region. UTSA slipped a spot to ninth in the men's
poll. The UTSA women remain in the top 10, keeping a hold on the sixth spot in
the region. UT Arlington made the largest jump in this week's rankings, moving
up four spots to seventh. The Maverick women remained 15th in the South Central
Region.
The Utah State men dropped to
14th ranked squad in the Mountain Region. The New Mexico State men sit right
behind them in 15th. The NMSU women received the 10th overall ranking, dropping
one spot from their previous standing.
USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country
Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each
respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing
returning team strength with current-season results in determining predicted
team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.
