The Vandals won their sixth consecutive match Friday night with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-23) win over Louisiana Tech. With the win, Idaho improves to 9-10 overall and 7-2 in the WAC, while LA Tech falls to 3-18 and 0-9 in the WAC.

The Vandals hit .243 in the match with 37 kills and nine errors on 115 swings, and had 10 aces and 7.0 blocks. Meanwhile, Idaho held LA Tech to a .191 hitting percentage, just one block and one ace. The Lady Techsters out-dug Idaho 64-48 in the match.

Idaho’s Allison (Walker) Baker posted a team-high 11 kills, Alyssa Schultz and Ashley Christman tallied seven each Alex Sele added six. Baker also added nine digs, while Schultz finished with five blocks. Both Christman and Schultz had just one error on 19 kills, and hit .316.

Jenny Feicht had 16 assists and 13 digs in the match, Ryann Carter had 14 assists and Janelle Chow had a team-high 14 digs and four aces. Jenna Ellis, who entered the match leading the WAC in aces, had two on Friday, and added a pair of digs.

Dalane Guidry led LA Tech with 12 kills, while Fenix Calderon and Clara Vido added 11 each. Stephany Salas had a match-high 22 digs, while Paige Cooper posted 15.

Idaho’s six-match win streak matches its longest since the 2003 season. The last time an Idaho team won seven matches in a row was 1999. Four of Idaho’s six wins during its streak have come on the road, and all have been in WAC play. The 3-0 win is Idaho’s third sweep of 2012, all coming in WAC action.
