Utah State 3, Idaho 2
Utah State rallied from down 2-1 to defeat Idaho in five sets (19-25, 25-21, 21-25. 25-20, 15-8) in WAC action Thursday night at Memorial Gym. With the win, the Aggies improve to 14-7 overall and 9-2 in the WAC. Idaho drops to 9-11 on the season and 7-3 in WAC play.

USU hit .227 on the night, compared to the .194 of the Vandals. The Aggies edged Idaho in kills (64-62), assists (60-56), digs (98-84) and blocks (13-9). The Vandals had more service aces (7-5) in the match.

Shay Sorensen led the Aggies with 18 kills, 17 digs and five blocks. Josselyn White added 17 kills and 16 digs, while Rachel Orr had 16 kills. Paige Neves posted 49 assists and 19 digs, while Ashlan Rogers had 23 digs.

Idaho was led by Allison (Walker) Baker with 19 kills, 14 digs and four blocks. Katelyn Peterson added 13 kills, while Ashley Christman finished with 11. Janelle Chow posted a match-high 27 digs.

UT Arlington 3, New Mexico State 1
The Mavericks defeated the Aggies in four sets (25-23, 12-25, 25-23, 27-25) in WAC action Thursday night. With the win, UT Arlington improves to 8-14 overall and 4-6 in WAC play. New Mexico State falls to 13-7 on the season and 7-3 in the WAC.

NM State out-hit UTA .140 to .086 on the match. The Aggies also had more kills (54-48), assists (49-43) and digs (77-76). The Mavericks posted six service aces to the Aggies one. Both team had 15 blocks on the night.

Shelby Dickson led UTA with 11 kills and 17 digs, while Ashley Bennett and Stacey Koch had 10 kills each. Bennett also had a match-high nine blocks.

NM State was paced by Meredith Hays with a match-high 16 kills to go along with 11 digs. Desiree Scott and Lauren Loerch posted 12 kills each, while Hannah Walker tallied a match-high 24 digs.


San Jose State 3, Seattle U 0
The Spartans swept the Redhaks (25-18, 26-24, 25-23) in WAC action Thursday. With the victory, San Jose State improves to 10-11 overall and 6-5 in the WAC. Seattle U drops to 7-13 on the year and 2-8 in WAC play.

SJSU hit .279 on the match and held the Redhawks to .180. The Spartans had more kills (45-38) and assists (42-36), but were bettered in digs (61-51) and blocks (6-2). Both teams had seven blocks.

Krista Millrt and Mary Alice O'Reilly had 13 kills each to lead SJSU. Hanah Blume had 12 digs and Michaela Leonard dished out 38 assists.

Kaytlyn Dill led Seattle U with 20 kills. Jacquie Brice had 34 assists, while Lani Beadle had 23 digs.


Denver 3, Louisiana Tech 1
The Pioneers defeated Louisiana Tech in four sets (25-13, 25-20, 22-25, 25-13) in WAC action Thursday. DU improves to 8-14 on the season and 5-5 in the WAC with the win. LA Tech falls to 3-19 overalll and 0-10 in WAC play.

The Pioneers out-hit the Lady Techsters .304 to .111. DU also had more kills (57-42), assists (52-35), service aces (6-3), digs (68-54) and blocks (11.5-7).

Colleen King led all players with 15 kills, while Alex Turgeon added 10. Kate Acker had 19 digs, while Faimie Kingsley was just shy of a double-double with nine kills and eight blocks.
