New Mexico State swept its in-state rival New Mexico (25-23, 25-13, 25-19) in The Pit Tuesday. NM State improves to 15-7 on the year while the Lobos drop to 18-6 on the year. This is the first time the Aggies have swept the Lobos since 2006.
Meredith Hays led the Aggies with a match-high 16 kills while hitting for a match-high .438 hitting percentage. Desiree Scott hit .429 with five kills on seven swings with two errors. The Aggies as a team marked a .276 hitting percentage, while holding the Lobos to a .040 hitting percentage.
Lauren Loerch added eight kills, while Ciara Brown and Taylor Livoti split the setting duties. Brown posted 18 assists and Livoti tallied 13. Livoti also had a team-high eight digs on the evening.
Denver 3, Northern Colorado 0
Denver topped Northern Colorado 3-0 (25-13, 27-25, 25-19) at Hamilton Gymnasium Tuesday night. With the victory the Pioneers move to 13-9 on the season, including a perfect 5-0 at home. The Golden Bears fell to 15-7.
Colleen King led the Pioneers with 12 kills, and tallied three blocks, while Faimie Kingsley finished with 10 kills and four blocks. Michele Swope recorded 10 kills and four digs in the win.
Kate Acker recorded a match-high 11 digs, while Bailey Karst and Frances Carroll ended the night with 22 and 17 assists, respectively. Brea Muhle tallied a match-high six blocks, while Tara Curtiss finished with three blocks.
