NORFOLK, Va. — (UTSA Media Relations) Senior Michael Hale III scored a career-high 29 points and UTSA won the Liberty Tax Classic title on Sunday with a 79-70 victory at Old Dominion.
The Roadrunners and Holy Cross each finished the season-opening tournament with a 2-1 record, but UTSA won the tiebreaker by virtue of its 60-56 triumph over the Crusaders on Saturday.

Seattle U 87, Montana State 72
Seattle, Wash. - (SU Media Relations) The Seattle University men's basketball team opened the 2012-13 season with an 87-72 victory over Montana State in the ninth annual Elgin Baylor Classic Sunday evening at KeyArena at Seattle Center.
Clarence Trent (Tacoma, Wash.) was named MVP of this year's classic after leading all players with 18 points, plus he pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. Redshirt freshman Deshaun Sunderhaus (Conyers, Ga.), making his first appearance in a collegiate basketball game, finished with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Chad Rasmussen hit four three-pointers for 12 points and Prince Obasi (Reseda, Calif.) contributed 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Oregon State 71, New Mexico State 62
Corvallis, Ore.-(NM State Media Relations) The New Mexico State men's basketball opened the 2012-13 season with a 71-62 loss at Oregon State in the Sports 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project.
The Aggies had three players in double figures with senior forward Tyrone Watson and sophomore guard Daniel Mullings scoring 14 points each. Senior forward Bandja Sy nearly had a double-double with 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds, and junior center Tshilidzi Nephawe added nine points and seven rebounds.
