SAN JOSE STATE’S O'REILLY EARNS WAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
San Jose State sophomore middle blocker Mary Alice O’Reilly has been named Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 5-11. This is her first-ever WAC Player of the Week honor.
The San Bruno, Calif. native averaged 4.67 kills on .393 hitting to go along with 1.33 blocks and a WAC-best 5.67 points per set to lead the Spartans to a sweep of league-leader Utah State last Saturday. She posted a match-high 14 kills to along with four blocks, including a match-high two solo blocks. O’Reilly entered the week averaging 3.21 kills and 0.95 blocks per set.
Other nominees included: Faimie Kingsley of Denver averaged 2.67 kills and 1.00 blocks per set as the Pioneers went 1-1 on the week ... Idaho’s Alex Sele averaged 3.00 kills on .583 hitting and 1.86 blocks per set as the Vandals went 2-0 last week ... Caitlin Germany of Louisiana Tech averaged 2.00 kills and 1.25 blocks per set ... New Mexico State’s Desiree Scott averaged 4.12 kills on .468 hitting and 1.12 blocks per set ... Kaytlyn Dill of Seattle U averaged 3.80 kills and 1.90 digs per set as the Redhawks went 2-0 on the week ... UT Arlington’s Charmaine Whitmore averaged 2.56 kills and 1.30 blocks per set last week ... McKenzie Adams of UTSA averaged 5.13 kills and 4.00 digs per set as the Roadrunners went 2-0 on the week ... Utah State’s Shay Sorensen averaged 4.00 kills, 2.33 digs and 0.67 blocks per set on the week.
BAKER EXTENDS DOUBLE-DIGIT KILL STREAK TO 43 MATCHES
Idaho junior Allison (Walker) Baker has posted double-digit kills in 43 consecutive matches, dating back to Sept. 16, 2011. In her three years as a Vandal, the outside hitter has had 10 or more kills in 74 of the 82 matches she has played, or 90 percent.
CHOW TALLIES 1,000TH CAREER DIG
Idaho senior libero Janelle Chow notched her 1,000th career dig in the second set of the Vandals’ sweep of Louisiana Tech on Nov. 8. She now has 1,021 on her career.
NEW MEXICO STATE RANKS NATIONALLY IN ATTENDANCE
New Mexico State currently ranks 23rd nationally in attendance with an average of 1,654 fans per match. The Aggies have ranked in the top 25 in attendance every year since joining the WAC in 2005. NM State’s highest ranking as a member of the WAC came in 2005, when the Aggies were 11th with an average attendance of 2,075.
FOUR WAC PLAYERS RANK IN TOP 50 IN BLOCKING
Four WAC players – Denver’s Faimie Kingsley (7th, 1.62), Idaho’s Alyssa Schultz (23rd, 1.38), and Utah State’s Elle Brainard (17th, 1.44) and Kaitlyn Van Hoff (37th, 1.31) – currently rank in the top 50 nationally in blocks per set.

In team statistics, UTSA leads the WAC in assists (13.26), kills (14.39) and digs (18.96). Denver is tops in hitting percentage (.241), while Utah State leads the WAC in opponent hitting percentage (.159) and blocks (3.00), and San Jose State is tops in service aces (1.34).
Individually UTSA’s McKenzie Adams leads the WAC in kills (4.33), while Idaho’s Allison (Walker) Baker is tops in points (4.87). New Mexico State’s Desiree Scott is tops in hitting percentage (.388), while Denver’s Faimie Kingsley is tops in blocks (1.62). San Jose State’s Michaela Leonard leads the league in assists (11.19), while Kaytlyn Dill of Seattle U leads the WAC in service aces (0.42) and UTSA’s Annie Kunes is tops in digs (4.98).
In WAC matches, UTSA leads the league in assists (13.69), kills (14.72) and digs (19.80). Idaho is tops in hitting percentage (.237) and blocks (2.94). Utah State leads the WAC in opponent hitting percentage (.143) and San Jose State is tops in service aces (1.42).

The 2012 tournament will consist of seven matches in three sessions (one session per day). Ticket prices are as follows:
