Denver fell 73-55 to Montana State Tuesday night at Magness Arena. The loss drops the Pioneers to 0-2 on the season, while the Bobcats improve to 2-0.
DU trailed throughout the game, shooting 36 percent from the floor, 20 percent from three-point range and 60 percent from the free throw line. Montana State connected on 50 percent from the field, 27 percent from downtown and 73 percent from the charity stripe on the game. DU out-rebounded the Bobcats 42-35, but committed 26 turnovers in the loss.
Morgan Van Riper-Rose led the Pioneers with 13 points, while Maiya Michel finished with a team-high five rebounds and Emiko Smith had a team-best five assists.
