Washington 77, Seattle U 75 (OT)
Seattle U fell 77-75 in overtime to cross-town rival Washington Wednesday. With the loss, the Redhawks fall to 0-2 on the season.

Seattle U shot 39 percent from the field, 28 percent from three-point range and 63 percent from the free throw line on the game. Washington connected on 43 percent from the field, 40 percent from downtown and just 27 percent from the charity stripe. The Redhakws dominated the boards, 59-36, but turned the ball over 25 times in the loss.

Kacie Sowell recorded her second double-double in as many games this season, leading the team with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Sylvia Shephard also recorded a double-double, with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Ashley Ward recorded 17 points for the Redhawks.

Prior to the game, head coach Bonvicini was honored with a special presentation, as tonight marked her 1000th career game coached.


UC Santa Barbara 43, New Mexico State 41
New Mexico State made a second half comeback, but fell 43-41 to UC Santa Barbara Wednesday evening at the Thunder Dome. With the loss, the Aggies move to 1-1 on the season.

NM State shot 30 percent from the field, seven percent from three-point range and 55 percent from the free throw line on the game, compared to the 36, 50 and 75 percent, respectively, of the Gauchos. UCSB also out-rebounded the Aggies 40-32 and forced 17 NM State turnovers.

Stefanie Gilbreath led the Aggie with 11 points, while Kelsie Rozendaal added 10.
