DENVER – UTSA junior outside hitter McKenzie Adams has been named Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 12-16. This is her fifth WAC Player of the Week honor of the season.

The Schertz, Texas native averaged 5.67 kills on .424 hitting to go along with 4.00 digs and a WAC-best 6.67 points per set to lead the Roadrunners to a sweep of San Jose State. She posted a match-high 17 kills on .424 hitting to go along with 12 digs for her 19th double-double of the season. Adams also added two solo blocks, a pair of assists and a service ace against the Spartans.

Other nominees included: Michele Swope of Denver averaged 3.67 kills on .476 hitting and 2.33 digs per set as the Pioneers swept Seattle U ... Idaho’s Alyssa Schultz averaged 3.00 blocks and 2.33 kills on .375 hitting as the Vandals swept New Mexico State on the road ... Meredith Hays of New Mexico State averaged 5.67 kills and 2.67 digs per set ... San Jose State’s Mary Alice O’Reilly averaged 3.33 kills, 0.50 digs and 0.50 blocks per set as the Spartans went 1-1 on the week ... Taylor Gross of UT Arlington averaged 4.33 kills and 1.33 blocks per set as the Mavericks swept Louisiana Tech to claim the last spot in the WAC Tournament field ... Utah State’s Rachel Orr averaged 4.00 kills on .600 hitting, 1.33 digs and 0.67 blocks per set on the week.
