UTSA 52, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 40
The Roadrunners improved to 3-0 on the season with a 52-50 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Friday.
UTSA shot 40 percent from the field, 33 percent from three-point range and just 46 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Roadrunners edged Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on the boards, 34-33, and forced 20 Islander turnovers.
Simone Young led all players with 13 points.
Mississippi State 57, Louisiana Tech 55
After leading by 10 at halftime, Louisiana Tech was outscored by 12 in the second half and remained winless on the season with a 57-55 loss to Mississippi State Friday night in Starkville, Miss.
The Lady Techsters shot 43 percent from the field, 20 percent from downtown and 64 percent from the charity stripe on the game. LA Tech out-rebounded Mississippi State 44-33, but committed 23 turnovers in the loss.
Brittany Lewis led Tech with 20 points and 10 revounds. Kelia Shelton added 14 points.
Wyoming 81, Denver 66
The Pioneers fell to 0-3 on the season with an 81-66 loss to Wyoming Friday at the Arena Auditorium.
Denver shot 46 percent from the field, 27 percent from three-point range and 69 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Pioneers out-rebounded the Cowgirls 31-29.
Morgan Van Riper-Rose led Denver with 16 points, while Theresa Wirth added 10.
Portland 62, Idaho 44
The Vandals fell to 0-3 on the season with a 60-44 loss to Portland Friday at Memorial Gym.
Idaho shot 28 percent from the field, 29 percent from three-point range and 59 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Vandals were out-rebounded 60-44 in the loss.
Alyssa Charlston led Idaho with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Christina Salvatore added 12 points and five boards.
Oral Roberts 73, UT Arlington 41
The Mavericks dropped their third game of the season Friday, falling 73-41 to Oral Roberts.
UTA shot 25 percent from the field, 28 percent from downtown and 50 percent from the free throw line on the game.
Kelsey Wilson led the Mavs with 17 points and nine rebounds.
