LOGAN, Utah -(USU Media Relations) Junior guard Preston Medlin and junior center Jarred Shaw each tallied 17 points and senior forward Kyisean added 15 points, and a 13-0 second-half run paced Utah State men's basketball to a 77-68 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Saturday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
USU led Saturday's game from start-to-finish and improve to 2-1 on the season, in bouncing back from Thursday's loss to Saint Mary's. USU is now 72-23 during the last 13 years following a loss.

UTSA 67, USC Upstate 59
SAN ANTONIO — (UTSA Media Relations) Senior Kannon Burrage poured in 19 points to help UTSA rally from a 14-point first-half deficit and the Roadrunners won their home opener, 67-59, against USC Upstate on Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center.
UTSA, now off to its second 3-1 start in the last three years, was staring at a 26-12 Spartans advantage with five minutes left to play in the first half, but the deficit was trimmed to four by halftime and the Roadrunners eventually outscored USC Upstate, 55-33, over the final 25 minutes of the contest. The Birds improved to 27-5 all-time in home openers, including 6-1 under seventh-year head coach Brooks Thompson.

SMU 78, Texas State 75
San Marcos, Texas – (Texas State Media Relations) In a nail biter that went down to the final buzzer, it was SMU who came out on top to beat Texas State, 78-75, at Strahan Coliseum tonight. The loss is the first of the season for the Bobcats, as they fall to 2-1 on the season.
Texas State trailed by seven points at the half, after shooting just 33 percent from the field and a season-low 11 made field goals. Joel Wright was the spark of the Bobcats' offense as he netted 10 points in the half to lead Texas State.

Montana 66, Idaho 63
MOSCOW, Idaho –(UI Media Relations) University of Idaho men’s basketball held a 15-point lead and all the momentum, but it all turned quickly and Montana came back to beat the Vandals at Memorial Gym on Saturday, 66-63.
Idaho (0-2) started the second half on an 11-2 run to take a four-point lead to 13 points at 45-32 with 16:32 to play, then extended its lead to 50-35 at the 12:27 mark of the half. From that point on, it was all Montana (2-1).

Virginia 83, Seattle U 43
Charlottesville, Va. -(SU Media Relations) Nothing went right for the Seattle University men's basketball team as the Virginia Cavaliers went on a significant scoring run in the first half and cruised to an 83-43 victory over the Redhawks Saturday afternoon at John Paul Jones Arena.
Deshaun Sunderhaus (Conyers, Ga.) hit a three-pointer and Louis Green (Westchester, Ill.) made a basket to give Seattle U a 6-3 lead three minutes into the game, but Virginia would take over, outscoring the Redhawks 41-7 over the final 17 minutes of the first half. Joe Harris and Akil Mitchell combined to score the first nine points of the run, and the rest of the Cavaliers joined in, as Virginia hit 15-of-29 shots from the field and 10-of-11 attempts from the free throw line before halftime.

Bucknell 62, New Mexico State 49
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (NMSU Media Relations)-The New Mexico State men's basketball team opened the Niagara Falls subregional of the 2K Sports Classic benefitting Wounded Warrior Project with a 62-49 loss to Bucknell (4-0).
Sophomore guard Daniel Mullings paced the Aggies (1-2) with a season-high 22 points and team-high six rebounds. Senior forward Tyrone Watson was also in double figures with 13 points.
