Eastern Illinois 88, San Jose State 67
San Jose State fell 88-67 at Eastern Illinois Monday afternoon. The game was played in front of a crowd of more than 2,500 school kids who were provided free tickets. With the loss, the Spartans fall to 2-2 on the season.

The Spartans shot just 37 percent from the field, 39 percent from three-point range and 70 percent from the free throw line on the game. San Jose State committed 23 turnovers, which the Panthers turned into 26 points.  The Spartans forced 15 EIU miscues, but managed to get just nine points from them. The Spartans were also outrebounded 49-36.

Ta'Rea Cunnigan led all scorers with 21 points, added seven rebounds and six assists. Chereese Thomas scored a season-best 15 points, including three from behind the 3-point line, and Alexis Hill had 10.
