LEXINGTON, Ky. – UTSA junior outside hitter McKenzie Adams was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) honorable mention All-American, the organization announced Wednesday.
The 2012 AVCA All-West Region selection and WAC Player of the Year is the first Roadrunner to earn All-America accolades strictly for on-court performance in program history.
The 6-3 outside hitter became the third player in WAC history to be named Player of the Week five times during the season. She finished second in the league with 4.85 points and 4.35 kills per set, while her mark of 3.84 digs was good for fourth. The Schertz, Texas, native also was named to the conference's all-tournament team.
