Louisiana Tech 61, Oral Roberts 59
Whitney Frazier completed a conventional three-point play with 11.2 seconds to play to lift Louisiana Tech to a 61-59 win over Oral Roberts Friday night at the Thomas Assembly Center. With the win, the Lady Techsters improve to 4-5 on the season.
LA Tech shot 39 percent from the field, eight percent from three-point range and 67 percent from the charity stripe on the game. The Lady Techsters were out-rebounded 40-34, but forced 17 ORU turnovers.
Frazier led all players with 21 points, while Brittany Lewis added 13 and Kelia Shelton had 11.
Pepperdine 70, Seattle U 64
Despite leading at halftime, Seattle U wasn’t able to hold on to the lead and fell at Pepperdine, 70-64, in the teams’ first-ever meeting. With the loss, the Redhawks fall to 3-5 on the season.
Seattle U shot 34 percent from the field, 11 percent from three-point range and 75 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Redhawks were out-rebounded 39-35 in the loss.
Kacie Sowell led all players with 20 points, while Ashley Ward added 14 points and Sylvia Shephard had 13.
