Texas State 75, Kennesaw State 61
Diamond Ford scored a season-high 31 points and Ashley Ezeh recorded her fourth straight double-double as Texas State defeated Kennesaw State 75-61 Tuesday night at Strahan Coliseum in San Marcos. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 6-3 on the year.
Texas State shot 40 percent from the field, 12 percent from three-point range and 92 percent from the free throw line on the game. Both teams grabbed 48 rebounds.
Ford finished with 31 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Ezeh added 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Erin Peoples put up 10 points.
UT Arlington 59, North Texas 50
UT Arlington picked up its second victory of the season Tuesday, defeating North Texas 59-50 at The Super Pit. With the victory, the Mavericks improve to 2-7 on the season.
UTA shot 33 percent from the field, 39 percent from downtown and 70 percent from the charity stripe on the game. The Mavericks won the rebounding battle 57-42.
Laila Suleiman led the Mavericks with 15 points, while Malaika Green finished with 12 points and Briana Walker added 10 points and 15 boards.
UC Irvine 71, Utah State 70
A three-pointer by UC Irvine's Kelly Meggs with 3.1 seconds left in the game gave the Anteaters a thrilling 71-70 win over Utah State women's basketball Tuesday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. WIth the loss, the Aggies fall to 2-8 on the season.
USU shot 41 percent from the field, 39 percent from beyond the arc and just 56 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Aggies were out-rebounded 44-37.
Jennifer Schlott had a career-high 26 points, while Devyn Christensen added 20 points.
New Mexico 68, New Mexico State 44
New Mexico State struggled to find its ground against New Mexico Tuesday, falling 68-44 in the second game of the Rio Grande Rivalry at the Pan American Center. The Aggies drop to 5-4 on the season with the loss.
NM State shot 30 percent from the field, 18 percent from three-point range and 60 percent from the charity stripe on the game. The Aggies were out-rebounded 42-27.
Sasha Weber led the team with 10 points, while Danesia Williamson added nine.
