Ta'Rea Cunnigan's shot was released a fraction of a second after the final buzzer went off and San Jose State fell 60-59 at Cal State Fullerton. With the loss, the Spartans drop to 3-8 on the season.
San Jose State shot 38 percent from the field, 27 percent from downtown and 80 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Spartans were out-rebounded 53-40 in the loss.
Cunnigan finished with a game-high 18 points, three blocks, three assists and two steals. Riana Byrd finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Houston 74, Texas State 61
Texas State tried to fight back from an 18-point deficit, cutting it to within eight, but it was not enough as the Bobcats fell 74-61 at Houston Saturday afternoon at Hofheinz Pavillion. The Bobcats drop to 6-4 on the season with the loss.
Texas State shot 38 percent from the field, 11 percent from three-point range and 63 percent from the free throw line on the game. Houston dominated the boards, 50-29.
Ashley Ezeh led Texas State with 20 points and nine rebounds. Diamond Ford added 14 points.
No. 15 Oklahoma State 90, UT Arlington 54
UT Arlington fell 90-54 to No. 15 Oklahoma State Saturday afternoon at College Park Center. With the loss, the Mavericks drop to 2-8 on the season.
UTA shot 33 percent from the field, 21 percent from beyond the arc and 88 percent at the charity stripe on the game.
Desherra Nwanguma led the Mavericks with season-high 15 points, followed by Eboni Watkins' season-high 11.
