Brigham Young 81, Utah State 77
Utah State came up just short against the Cougars at the Marriott Center in Provo on Tuesday, falling 81-77. The Aggies have now lost three-straight games, falling to 2-6 overall this season.
Utah State shot 48 percent from the field and 43 percent from three-point range, both of which were season highs. The Aggies shot 82 percent from the charity stripe. USU was out-rebounded 40-28 in the loss.
Jenna Johnson led USU with 18 points, five rebounds and three assists. Devyn Christensen added 17 points to go along with four rebounds and four steals. Jennifer Schlott was one point from tying her career high, finishing with 16 points, while Makenlee Williams scored a career-high 15 points to go along with a team-high six boards.
UT-Pan American 59, UT Arlington 57
UT-Pan American rallied in the second half to beat UT Arlington 59-57 Tuesday night at College Park Center. With the loss, the Mavericks fall to 1-7 on the seaosn.
UTA shot 44 percent from the field, 18 percent from three-point range and just 47 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Mavs out-rebounded the Broncs 44-39, but committed 28 turnovers.
Kiara Parker paced the Mavericks with 16 points, while Rosalyn Thorpe had 10 points and six rebounds. Aron Garcia pulled down a game-high 11 boards.
Texas A&M 77, Louisiana Tech 26
Texas A&M hit a season-high 11 three-pointers and held Louisiana Tech to just one first half field goal as the Aggies defeated the Lady Techsters 77-26 Tuesday night before 4,248 fans at Reed Arena. With the loss, LA Tech drops to 2-4 on the season.
Tech shot 17 percent from the field, 12 percent from three-point range and 50 percent from the free throw line while Texas A&M shot 42 percent from the field, 73 percent from beyond the arc and 67 percent from the free throw line. A&M outrebounded Tech 49-42 and outscored LA Tech 23-1 on points off of turnovers.
Kelia Shelton led Tech with seven points and eight rebounds.
