Seattle U 72, Portland State 59
The Redhawks took a 13-point lead into halftime and never looked back, defeating Portland State 72-59 Sunday. With the win, Seattle U improves to 3-4 on the year.

The Redhawks shot 42 percent from the field, 50 percent from downtown and 75 percent from the free throw line on the game. Seattle U won the rebounding battle, 41-37.

Ashley Ward led all players with 23 points, while Kacie Sowell added a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Sylvia Shephard added 13 points and Daidra Brown had 11 in the win.

Rutgers 73, Louisiana Tech 46
Louisiana Tech struggled to shoot the basketball and fell 73-46 to Rutgers Sunday morning at Madison Square Garden as part of the 2012 Maggie Dixon Classic. With the loss, LA Tech falls to 2-5 on the season.

The Lady Techsters were out-shot 62 percent from 25 percent on the game. Tech pulled down 17 offensive rebounds while also earning 25 trips to the free throw line, where it hit 17. Tech also forced 22 turnovers by Rutgers, recording a season-high 12 steals.

Brittany Lewis led LA Tech with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Kelia Shelton added 10 points.
