Louisiana Tech 82, Utah State 76
Whitney Frazier scored a career-high 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting to lead the Lady Techsters to an 82-76 road win at Utah State in WAC action Thursday. With the win, Louisiana Tech improves to 12-11 overall and 5-3 in WAC play. The Aggies fall to 15-7 on the season and 6-2 in the conference.
The Lady Techsters shot 48 percent from the field, 41 percent from downtown and 77 percent from the free throw line. Utah State connected on 52 percent from the field, 58 percent from three-point range and 94 percent from the charity stripe on the game. LA Tech dominated the boards, 37-24.
Shantale Bramble-Donaldson added 12 points for LA Tech, followed by Jasmine Bendolph with 11 and Brittany Hardy with 10. Bramble-Donaldson also grabbed nine rebounds and Bendolph dished out eight assists.
Devyn Christensen led the Aggies with 22 points, while Brooke Jackson and Ashlee Brown added 14 points apiece and Maddy Plunkett scored 12.
Idaho 62, New Mexico State 59 (OT)
Alyssa Charlston hit a game-tying three-pointer with 6.1 seconds left and Keri Arendse hit another trey in overtime, the only field goal of the extra period, as Idaho extended its winning streak to three games with a 62-59 overtime win over New Mexico State on Thursday night. With the win, the Vandals improve to 8-16 on the season and 3-5 in WAC play. NM State drops to 5-18 on the year and 2-6 in the conference.
Idaho shot 40 percent from the field, a season-best 47 percent from long range and 75 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Aggies connected on 37 percent from the floor, 43 percent from three-point range and 82 percent from the charity stripe. The Vandals edged NM State on the boards, 35-34.
Charlston led all scorers with 17 points, while Keri Arendse added 12 points and Jessica Graham had 10.
The Aggies were led by Dre' Chenier and Simone Ruedin with 13 points apiece.
