Fresno State 85, Nevada 67
The Bulldogs tied their own WAC record with 18 three-pointers in an 85-67 road win over Nevada Saturday. With the win, Fresno State improves to 20-4 overall and remains the only unbeaten team in WAC play at 8-0. Nevada drops to 5-18 overall and 1-7 in the conference.
The Bulldogs shot 48 percent from the field, 62 percent from three-point range and 64 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Wolf Pack connected on 45 percent from the floor, 10 percent from downtown and 70 percent from the charity stripe. Nevada also out-rebounded Fresno State 39-30.
Taylor Thompson led the Bulldogs with 17 points, followed by Rosie Moult and Madison Parrish with 14 and 13, respectively.
Kayla Williams led all players with 24 points.
Utah State 57, New Mexico State 45
Utah State defeated New Mexico State 57-45 in the battle of the Aggies Saturday. With the win, USU improves to 16-7 overall and 7-2 in WAC play. NM State drops to 5-19 on the season and 2-7 in the conference.
USU shot 42 percent from the field, 19 percent from three-point range and 83 percent from the free throw line. NM State connected on 31 percent from the floor, 17 percent from downtown and 71 percent from the charity stripe on the game. NM State won the rebounding battle 38-35, but committed 20 turnovers in the loss.
Jenna Johnson led USU with 11 points, followed by Maddy Plunkett and Devyn Christensen with 10 apiece. Ashlee Brown pulled down 10 rebounds.
NM State was paced by Tabytha Wampler with 12 points and Kelsie Rozendaal and Dre' Chenier with 10 points each.
Louisiana Tech 61, Idaho 57
Louisiana Tech made it a road sweep with a 61-57 win at Idaho in WAC action Saturday night. With the win, the Lady Techsters improve to 13-11 on the season and 6-3 in conference play. The Vandals fall to 8-17 overall and 3-6 in the WAC.
LA Tech shot 36 percent from the field, 25 percent from three-point range and just 44 percent from the free throw line on the game. Idaho connected on 38 percent form the field, 29 percent from downtown and 60 percent from the line. The Lady Techsters won the battle of the boards, 46-43.
Shantale Bramble-Donaldson led all players with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Whitney Jones added 15 points for the Lady Techsters.
Idaho was paced by Keri Arendse with 14 points. Alyssa Charlston added a double-double of 10 points and 10 boards.
San Jose State 67, Hawai‘i 58
The Spartans swept the season series with a 67-58 win at Hawai‘i Saturday night in WAC action. With the win, San Jose State improves to 9-14 on the season and 4-4 in the conference. The Rainbow Wahine fall to 8-15 overall and 3-5 in the WAC.
The Spartans shot 41 percent from the field, 10 percent from beyond the arc and 82 percent from the free throw line. Hawai‘i connected on 31 percent from the field, 31 percent from downtown and 70 percent from the charity stripe. SJSU out-rebounded the Rainbow Wahine 43-35.
Brittany Johnson led all players with 29 points, while Sara Plavljanin and Myesha Broaden added 10 apiece. Broaden also pulled down 12 boards for a double-double.
Hawai‘i was paced bu Breanna Arbuckle and Vicky Tagalicod with 13 points each.
