No. 17 Hawai‘i 4, San Jose State 1
No. 17 Hawai‘i opened WAC play with a 4-1 win over San Jose State. Stephanie Ricketts earned her 15th complete-game win of the season, tossing 7.0 innings, allowing one unearned run while striking out six. SJSU's Amanda Pridmore fired a one-hitter, but allowed four runs on five walks and nine strikeouts.

Brigham Young 3, New Mexico State 2
Jenna Goar hit the game-winning double in the bottom of the seventh to give BYU a 3-2 WAC win over New Mexico State at Friday at Gail Miller Field. Tori Almond earned the win, striking out seven and walking one in seven innings of work.

Fresno State 3, Nevada 0

The Bulldogs opened WAC play with a 3-0 road win over the Wolf Pack. Michelle Moses earned the shutout win, allowing six hits and striking out 10. Maria Sio was 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Utah State 4, Louisiana Tech 0
The Aggies earned a road win in their WAC season opener, defeating LA Tech 4-0. Mandy Harmon earned the complete-game win, allowing five hits and striking out six. Lindsey Marquez drove in two runs to pace Utah State.
