Five WAC Indoor Track and Field athletes will compete in the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships Friday and Saturday in Boise, Idaho. For the women, Louisiana Tech senior Chelsea Hayes will compete in both the 60-meter dash and the long jump. Hayes’ 60-meter time of 7.24 seconds is sixth in the nation, and her mark of 21 feet, 8 inches (6.60 meters) in the long jump ranks second nationally. Idaho sophomore Hannah Kiser will participate in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:07.23, which is currently ninth in the nation. Nevada senior La Tijera Avery will enter the high jump, as her mark of 6-0 (1.83m) is tied for eighth in the nation. For the men, Louisiana Tech sophomore Trey Hadnot will participate in the 200-meter dash, as his time of 21.04 is currently tied for 15th in the nation. Idaho senior Jeremy Klas will compete in the pole vault, with a mark of 17- 9.75 ( 5.43m) that is ranked tenth nationally.

In outdoor action, Fresno State travels to San Luis Obispo, Calif. for for a meet at Cal Poly, and Nevada heads to Davis, Calif. for the Aggie Open.
