New Mexico State 4, Louisiana Tech 3
LAS CRUCES, N.M. - (NMSU Media Relations) The New Mexico State baseball team (29-11, 6-2 WAC) ended a game in walk-off fashion for the second day in-a-row after senior Bryan Karraker blasted a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to give the Aggies a 4-3 win over Louisiana Tech (17-21, 1-7 WAC) at Presley Askew Field, Friday, April 20.
Louisiana Tech had took a 3-0 lead heading into the seventh inning but the Aggies started to put the pressure on the Bulldogs when junior third baseman Robert Lecount smashed a solo home run over the left field wall. With the score 3-1 going into the eighth, NM State reliever Tyler Mack came up big to hold the Bulldogs scoreless and get the team to the bottom of the inning.
Karraker was the only Aggie to score in the eighth on a single by senior shortstop Zach Voight, although the inning ended on the same play when junior Parker Hipp was thrown out at home on a close play that could have been called the other way.
