Fresno State 3, Cal Poly 2

FRESNO, Calif. - (FS Media Relations) Freshman outfielder Jordan Luplow picked a great night to notch his second three-hit game of the season, sparking Fresno State to a 3-2 win on Tuesday evening with his bat and his legs. The Bulldog pitching staff was near flawless, allowing only four hits to beat Cal Poly for the second time in eight days at Beiden Field.

"It's been a while since we had a really good win like this," said head coach Mike Batesole. "We made some nice calls and switches on defense; we had a couple good outs for RBIs."

Luplow ignited Fresno State's tie-breaking inning by beating out a groundball to third for an infield single with one out in the seventh. He promptly stole second base and advanced to third after Cal Poly catcher Chris Hoo's throw skipped into center field. After freshman infielder Chris Mariscal walked, Luplow scored on a Pat Hutcheson groundout for the go-ahead run.
