STARKVILLE, Miss. - Seven WAC softball players have been named to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-Region teams announced today. A total of 263 players representing 129 different institutions comprise this season’s regional teams, including first and second teams for each region.
Brigham Young led the way with four players named to the Pacific Region teams. Shortstop JC Clayton and outfielder Delaney Willard were named to first team, while pitcher Tori Almond and second baseman Stacie Toney were second team honorees.
Pitcher/first baseman/outfielder Michelle Moses of Fresno State and Hawai'i pitcher Stephanie Ricketts were named first team All-West Region. Meanwhile, Hawai'i outfielder Kelly Majam was a second team selection.
The all-region teams were chosen by NFCA member coaches from each region, and all the honorees are now eligible for selection to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America first, second or third teams. The NFCA Division I All-American teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 30.
