Nevada 9, UC Davis 8
RENO, Nev. – (Nevada Media Relations) The University of Nevada (27-21) led UC Davis (18-26) 8-2 heading to the ninth inning but had to score in the bottom of the inning to defeat the Aggies 9-8 in a nonconference game on Tuesday afternoon at Peccole Park. With the win the Wolf Pack improves to 27-21 while the Aggies fall to 18-26.
The Pack held a six run advantage heading to the top of the ninth inning and closer Matt Gardner retired the first two hitters of the inning but 10 more Aggie batters came to the plate and six scored to tie the game at 8-8. Freshman Colby Blueberg did record the final out of the inning but faced four batters before UCD was retired.
In the bottom of the ninth inning Jamison Rowe doubled with one out and moved to third on the play after the Aggie right fielder bobbled the ball. An intentional walk to Kewby Meyer and then Cameron Brooks reached on a fielders choice to load the bases. Reserve infielder Ray McIntire dropped down a bunt single to score Rowe with the winning run as Nevada escaped with the 9-8 victory in its final midweek game of the season.
Blueberg (1-2) won his first game at Nevada recording the one out in the top of the ninth. Harry Stanwyck (2-4) was tagged with the loss giving up just the one run in two innings on the mound.

Sacramento State 2, Saint Mary's 1 (10)
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – (Sacramento State Media Relations) Senior Derrick Chung hit a sacrifice fly to center in the 10th to drive in junior Andrew Ayers from third and the Sacramento State baseball team defeated Saint Mary’s, 2-1, in its first extra innings game of the season on Tuesday afternoon at John Smith Field.
The Hornets (26-23) won their final midweek game of the year after scoring two runs on eight hits with one error. The Gaels (22-24) lost after tallying one run on eight hits with one error.
Saint Mary’s scored its lone run of the game in the first inning while the Hornets waited until the seventh to get started.
After allowing one run in the first, starting pitcher Hunter Greenwood responded with five shutout innings which gave the Sacramento State offense time to strike.
The Hornets stranded 10 runs on Tuesday, including two in the seventh, but that was also when they notched their first run. Freshman Rhys Hoskins and senior Trevor Paine hit back-to-back doubles to start the inning and Hoskins eventually scored from third on sophomore David Del Grande’s RBI single to short.
