Denver 68, Utah State 57


DENVER -(DU Media Relations) University of Denver sophomore guard Brett Olson (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) scored 18 points and dished out four assists, leading the Pioneers to their seventh-straight victory with a 68-57 win over the Utah State Aggies at Magness Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Senior guard Chase Hallam (Mesquite, Texas) scored 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting for Denver (11-7, 7-1 WAC). Junior forward Chris Udofia (Irving, Texas) added 13 points, three assists, two blocks and two steals. Freshman Jalen Love (Wichita, Kan.) rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points.

Texas State 81, UTSA 78


San Antonio, Texas –(Texas State Media Relations) Texas State came out of the gates like a team on a mission. Its mission was to take down UTSA and win the I-35 Rivalry matchup - mission complete. The Bobcats defeated UTSA, 81-78, in overtime at the Convocation Center. The win gave Texas State (5-14, 1-6 WAC) its first conference victory, while it left UTSA (4-13, 0-7 WAC) still in the hunt for the same.

Reid Koenen found his stroke today, as he led the Bobcats with a career-high 23 points on 7-for-9 shooting; 5-for-7 from long range. Corey Stern recorded his first double-double of the season with 18 points and 13 rebounds for a career night in both categories. Joel Wright chipped in 16 points, while Phil Hawkins added 13 points, and Wesley Davis finished with 10 points.

Idaho 77, UT Arlington 64


ARLINGTON, Texas –(UI Media Relations) Behind a dominant rebounding performance and season-best offensive efficiency, University of Idaho men’s basketball led from start to finish in a 77-64 Western Athletic Conference road win at UT Arlington on Saturday.

Idaho (7-10, 3-4 WAC) shot a season-best 59.5 percent from the floor, went 8-of-19 (.421) from 3-point range, knocked down 86.4 percent of its free throws and out-rebounded UTA (8-8, 3-4 WAC) by a 38-26 margin to get the win.

New Mexico State 70, San Jose State 53


LAS CRUCES, N.M. (NMSU Media Relations)-The New Mexico State men's basketball team won its sixth consecutive game with a 70-53 victory over San Jose State.

Senior forward Bandja Sy led the Aggies (12-8, 6-2 WAC) with 16 points on 50 percent shooting (6-of-12), and he had eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Daniel Mullings and senior forward Tyrone Watson were also in double digits with 13 points and 10 points, respectively.

Louisiana Tech 78, Seattle U 71


RUSTON, La. (AP) - Alex Hamilton and Jaron Johnson each scored 15 points and Louisiana Tech's bench outscored Seattle's by 42 points in the Bulldogs' 78-71 victory over Seattle Saturday night in Western Athletic Conference game.

Louisiana Tech (16-3, 7-0) had an enormous 60-18 advantage in bench scoring.

The Bulldogs also had a huge edge at the foul line. They hit 30 of 40 free throws. Seattle (6-11, 1-6) was 11 for 18 from the stripe.

Hamilton, Johnson and Kenyon McNeail (12 points) combined for 42 of those 60 bench points.

Hamilton was perfect at the foul line, hitting 8 of 8 free throws. McNeail went 7 for 9 at the stripe, while Johnson was 4 for 4. Four of Hamilton's free throws came in the last 1:21, when Seattle drew within 70-68, but then Louisiana Tech hit 8 of 10 free throws, three by McNeail.

Clarence Trent led Seattle with 19 points.
