The Idaho men's tennis team got its season started on the right foot, sweeping Eastern Washington 7-0 in Cheney on Sunday ... Idaho won at the top two doubles spots to win the doubles point ... its No. 46 nationally ranked pair of Maris Cirstea and Abid Akbar won 8-6 over EWU at the No. 1 spot ... Dmitry Perevoshchikov won 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 at No. 2 over Martinez, and Cirstea won 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 ... Ivan Krijanto won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6 for Idaho ... The New Mexico State men's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season to University of Arizona 4-2 on Saturday afternoon after poor weather delayed the match in Tucson ... due to inclement weather, the doubles matches did not take place ... Louis Ramirez led things off for the Aggies at the top spot ... the lone senior claimed a 6-3, 6-1 victory against Wildcat Andre Vidaller ... on Friday the Aggies defeated Scottsdale CC, 7-0 ... the Aggies now continue on the road as they head to Las Vegas, Nev., to meet UC Riverside, host UNLV and Southern Miss in three days of competition.

The Seattle University men's tennis team wrapped up the weekend with a 6-1 loss at Air Force Sunday in Colorado Springs, Colo. ... Will Topp (Olympia, Wash.) won his second straight singles match Sunday, playing Grant Taylor at No. 2 singles ... the Redhawks dropped earlier matches to Northern Colorado and Montana St., both ending 5-2 ... The Redhawks next take the court Friday, Feb. 1 ... they will head south for two matches that day, at Portland and at Portland State.
