Louisiana Tech 55, UT Arlington 52
ARLINGTON, Texas -(LT Media Relations) Louisiana Tech used a 10-0 run with less than two and a half minutes remaining in the game to overcome a seven-point deficit and take the dramatic 55-52 come-from-behind win over UT Arlington Saturday night at the College Park Center.
The Bulldogs fourth straight win moved them to 12-3 on the season and kept them perfect in WAC play. LA Tech is now 3-0 to start the conference for only the third time since joining the WAC in 2001. UT Arlington dropped their third straight game and fell to 6-6 on the season and 1-2 in conference.
"The shots weren't falling for us tonight and part of that is UT Arlington and how effective they are defensively," said head coach Michael White. "To grind one out against a good team on the road is very good."
LA Tech opened the contest with an alley-oop dunk by forward Michale Kyser, but that would be the only lead the Bulldogs would have in the first half as they struggled mightily to shoot the basketball in this period, going just 9-of-26 from the field.

San Jose State 76, Seattle U 71
San Jose, Calif.--(SJSU Media Relations) James Kinney and Louis Garrett combined for 47 points as San Jose State defeated Seattle University, 76-71, in a Western Athletic Conference men’s basketball game.
Kinney led all scorers with 26 points and Garrett scored a season-high 21 points for the Spartans (8-6, 3-1 WAC). It was the first time this season two San Jose State players scored 20 or more points in the same game. Both players were 3-of-6 from 3-point range.
“We had better rhythm (on offense). We moved the ball and made them defend for longer stretches. Our guys think they can ‘quick-shoot’ it, but it is not a good strategy for us. Tonight, we were more patient, had some good in-out stuff, some good balance and that’s what we want our offense to be,” said San Jose State coach George Nessman whose team rebounded from a 28.2 shooting percentage two nights earlier in a 64-55 loss to Idaho with a 43.4 percent figure.
“I’ve been trying to put up some extra shots (in practice). My teammates believe in me and we have some good energy going around the team right now that is benefitting us,” said the 6-foot-6 Garrett.
