DENVER — Idaho’s Rachel Millet and North Dakota’s Rachael Waldbillig have been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively.
Millet, a junior from Spokane, Wash. (Ferris HS), won both the 200-yard backstroke and 200 individual medley in a dual meet at Boise State. In the 200 back, Millet set a pool record with a time of 2:01.36, and she captured top honors in the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.78. Both times are currently in the top 25 in the nation. She also placed second in the 200 free (1:51.50).
Waldbillig, a senior from Circle Pines, Minn. (Centennial HS), won both the 1-meter and 3-meter events in a dual meet against South Dakota State. She scored 241.35 points on the 3-meter board to win by just over a point against her teammate, Lexi Eissinger. Waldbillig then had 230.85 points on the 1-meter to win by more than 11 over Eissinger. North Dakota won the meet, 161-139.
