Seattle U 2, Bakersfield 1
SEATTLE, Wash.-(SU Media Relations) Seattle University women’s soccer (11-2-2, 8-0-0 WAC) found themselves down early but came back with two second half goals to top Bakersfield (4-11-1, 3-5-1 WAC), 2-1, in Western Athletic Conference action. The Redhawks remain undefeated in league play, increasing their win streak to nine games and their home winning streak to seven games.
“It’s great to know that our team can have not their best game and still be able to grind it out,” said head coach Julie Woodward. “I thought Bakersfield came out with pressure and in terms of energy, they were ready. We were sloppy in the first half and I think it’s a good thing we got scored on. Going towards the conference tournament, I think it’s important to know that we can be scored on and still come from behind and win. I’m really proud of the team.”
