Kansas City men's soccer completed the season sweep of Grand Canyon on Sunday afternoon in dominating fashion with a 2-0 home win. The ‘Roos out-shot the ‘Lopes 19-6 in the game, and moved their unbeaten streak to four games.

Kansas City (4-5-4, 3-1-1 WAC) jumped on Grand Canyon (2-8-2, 1-3-0 WAC) from the start, and nearly went up 1-0 in the fifth minute when junior Jordan Rideout hit a ball across the goal mouth for sophomore Broc Cramer, but a GCU defender just barely got a piece of it to keep him from scoring.

Seattle University men’s soccer (5-8-2, 4-0-1 WAC) remained on top of the Western Athletic Conference standings with a 2-1 come-from-behind win at Bakersfield (4-7-2, 2-2-1 WAC) in league action. The Redhawks are on a four-game undefeated streak and have won or tied six of their last eight matches.

“It was a terrific win in very warm conditions,” said head coach Pete Fewing. “It was the first time we’ve won both Friday and Sunday, so we’re making terrific steps forward. We started five freshmen today, so that’s great. It was a terrific goal by Ian Hines-Ike, that goal would go in anywhere in the world and Miguel Gonzalez is proving, once again, that he’s a terrific soccer player. We could’ve easily rolled over when we were down 1-0 at halftime but I’m very proud of the guys and our defense continues to do well. It’s exciting to be on top of the WAC but we still have a lot of work to do.”

UNLV sophomore Rodrigo Fuentes posted his first game-winner of the season and the Rebels earned a second shutout in the past four games to claim a 1-0 victory on Sunday afternoon over San Jose State in WAC men's soccer action from Peter Johann Field. The Rebels broke both a two-game scoreless streak and a three-game losing streak with the victory, which improved their record to 4-9 overall, 2-3 in league play.

"It was huge to get this win today, and winning by shutout made it even better," said UNLV head coach Rich Ryerson. "We haven't been able to find a goal of late, so it was great to break that streak, and to break the losing streak as well, we hope we can use this to start off a win streak with playing our next two at home as well."
