Seattle U 2, New Mexico State 1 (2OT)
LAS CRUCES, N.M.-(SU Media Relations) Seattle University women’s soccer (12-2-2, 9-0-0 WAC) extended their winning streak into double digits, notching their 10th straight win as they downed New Mexico State, 2-1, in double overtime in Las Cruces, N.M. Over the 10-game winning streak, the Redhawks have allowed just three goals since Sept. 20.
“We did not get off to our best start today,” said head coach Julie Woodward. “New Mexico State had high energy and threw us off our game. But, at the end of the day we fought hard and found a way to win, which is impressive knowing that we did not have our best game. The team stepped up in overtime, with Kat and Taylor combining for a beautiful goal. I’m proud of their effort.”

Kansas City 2, Idaho 0
KANSAS CITY, Mo.-(UMKC Media Relations) Kansas City exploded out of the second half gates with a dozen shots and a pair of goals en route to a 2-0 victory over Idaho on Friday evening, moving the ‘Roos one step closer to a berth in the WAC Tournament.
Perhaps a product of a 4 p.m. start time, UMKC started slowly, mustering only two shots in the first half and failing to control possession versus the sixth-place Vandals.
“I was very unhappy at halftime,” said head coach Chris Cissell. “We had only taken two shots in the first half and neither of them was on frame. It was certainly a tail of two halves.”
