The Kangaroos snapped a three-match losing skid with a 3-0 win over Chicago State (25-14, 25-17, 25-13) Friday night at the Swinney Recreation Center. The win improves the ‘Roos to 11-10 overall and 5-4 in the WAC, while Chicago State drops to 2-21 overall and 0-9 in conference play.
The Kangaroos hit a season-best .349 in the victory, while limiting the Cougars to a .000 mark. Kansas City also had more kills (37-27), assists (35-27), service aces (4-1), digs (36-34) and blocks (10-2).
Emma Hagedorn led all players with nine kills and five blocks, while Chloe Jarema and Taylor Buhrow added eight apiece. Nicole Wemhoff dished out 21 assists, while Kaylyn Brandt had 11.
Chicago State was paced by Valeria Desiderio with nine kills, while Pauls Sioto added eight kills and 10 digs. Mackenzie Lotter posted a match-high 25 assists, while Julia Menhart had a match-high 13 digs.
