Seattle U 3, Kansas City 0

KANSAS CITY-(SU Media Relations) Seattle University women’s soccer (13-2-2, 10-0-0 WAC) scored early and often as they defeated Kansas City (9-8-1, 6-4-0 WAC), 3-0. With two regular season games remaining, the Redhawks have clinched the Western Athletic Conference regular season title.
“Julia scored a great early goal that helped us get through the first half with a 1-0 lead,” said head coach Julie Woodward.

“UMKC put us under a lot of pressure in the first half and we struggled. We responded very well and our team really had a strong second half, scoring two more goals and not allowing a single shot. I was very proud of the way they played today. It was a great time win and really nice to see Julia have two goals and Heather add another. She gave us a good spark.”

Idaho 1, New Mexico State 0

LAS CRUCES--Alyssa Pease scored in the 68th minute, giving Idaho all it would need in a 1-0 win over New Mexico State in Las Cruces.

Pease put the ball in the back of the net from 15 yards out after receiving a long ball from Elexis Schlossarek. Pease recorded three of Idaho's seven shots on the day, including two of Idaho's four shots on goal. Marina Siegl played all 90 minutes in goal for the Vandals, recording seven saves in the shutout victory.

Grand Canyon 1, Bakersfield 0

BAKERSFIELD-(GCU Media Relations) The Grand Canyon University women's soccer team (5-12-1, 4-7-1) closed out their inaugural season as members of the Western Athletic Conference with a 1-0 win over CSU Bakersfield (4-12-1, 3-6-1) at the Main Soccer Field in Bakersfield, Calif. The game marked the final contest for the Antelopes in 2013.

It was the eighth game decided by one goal for GCU this season, including their seventh with a 1-0 finish.

"I am exceptionally proud of the girls today," said head coach Stevie Gill. "It was our 14th game on the road, and we are feeling pretty beat up and injured, but we found a way to win. It has been a trying season for everyone involved, so it is great to end on a positive note."

The 'Lopes used a strong offensive push in the second half, where they outshot the Roadrunners 7-3, to score the game's lone goal. Of their nine total attempts, GCU put six on target.
