DENVER — Bakersfield’s Delise Batiza and Northern Arizona’s Chelsea Jackson have been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for October 21-27.
 
Batiza, a junior from San Ramon, Calif. (Oregon State), swam a WAC season-best time of 10:28.99 in the 1000 free in a dual meet against Pacific.  Batiza also won the 200 fly (2:07.47) and placed third in the 500 free with a time of 5:07.85, the third fastest in the WAC this season.

Jackson, a sophomore from Flagstaff, Ariz. (Northland Prep), helped Northern Arizona to a home dual meet win over New Mexico on Saturday.  Jackson won the 1-meter diving event with a Wall Aquatic Center pool record of 303.15, the best score in the WAC this season and fourth best in school history.  Jackson placed second on the 3-meter with a score of 299.55.
 
Other swimmers nominated: New Mexico State senior Tricia Kiss; Northern Arizona sophomore Kendall Brown; and Northern Colorado freshman Carleigh Barrett.
 
Other divers nominated: Northern Colorado sophomore Kelsey Smith.
